Newcastle Target Now Available for £30m, Says Fabrizio Romano

The January transfer window is well underway, and Newcastle United are pushing to secure their return to the Champions League.

Currently sitting fifth in the Premier League table, just one point behind Chelsea, the Magpies have shown determination this season.

After losing to Chelsea in October, they redeemed themselves days later with a Carabao Cup victory.

One notable player from Chelsea’s squad who featured in that Carabao Cup game was midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The 26-year-old played 57 minutes before being substituted following an underwhelming performance.

Back in November, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano linked Dewsbury-Hall to Newcastle, but his performance at St. James’ Park left fans questioning whether he could make an impact on Tyneside.

Newcastle’s primary target for January is a right-sided attacker, with names such as James McAtee and Bryan Mbeumo reportedly on their radar.

Despite skepticism surrounding Dewsbury-Hall, Romano has provided an update on his situation that Newcastle sporting director Paul Mitchell may consider.

Dewsbury-Hall Available for Transfer in January

Dewsbury-Hall, who joined Chelsea for £30 million in the summer, has struggled for regular Premier League game time.

He has managed just 55 minutes across five top-flight appearances this season but has been a more regular presence in Chelsea’s Europa Conference League campaign.

According to Romano, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has informed Dewsbury-Hall he can leave the club in January, provided a suitable bid is received.

The decision to sell was communicated to the midfielder in December.

Meanwhile, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has outlined his transfer priorities, including a forward, a right winger, and a goalkeeper.

There is also hope of securing a central defender if the budget allows.

Although Newcastle are interested in Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov, Manchester City appears to be leading the race for his signature.

Newcastle’s Midfield Already Packed

Newcastle’s midfield remains one of their strongest areas, featuring a mix of youth and experience.

The trio of Joelinton, Sandro Tonali, and Bruno Guimarães have formed a formidable partnership, making them almost undroppable.

Additional depth comes from players like Joe Willock and Sean Longstaff, while youngster Lewis Miley is seen as a future star.

Given the current strength and depth in Newcastle’s midfield, a move for Dewsbury-Hall seems unnecessary.

Even if he were to join, there’s no guarantee he would break into the starting lineup.

With Newcastle focusing on other positions, Dewsbury-Hall may not fit into their January transfer plans.
