Harry Winks’ absence from King Power Stadium last weekend “has been dealt with,” and every Leicester City player will be present for the final two home games, Ruud van Nistelrooy confirmed.

Images and videos shared on Instagram showed Winks was not at the stadium last Sunday, when City’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool confirmed their relegation.

The midfielder has fallen out of favour under van Nistelrooy, reportedly due to a dispute regarding his commuting arrangements.

Following the Liverpool loss, van Nistelrooy made it clear he expected all players, even those not involved in the matchday squad, to attend home games.

Speaking this week, van Nistelrooy said the situation has been resolved internally but did not confirm if Winks was fined or disciplined.

“It was clear how the weekend unfolded,” van Nistelrooy said when questioned about Winks. “It’s been handled internally, and that’s all I can say.

It’s not just about Harry; it’s been addressed, and we’re moving forward, focusing on the last two home matches where everyone will be present to support Jamie (Vardy).

“It’s been settled within the club, and now our attention turns fully to supporting Jamie. That’s a standard policy within football clubs, and it applies here too.”

Leicester’s final two home fixtures are against Southampton on Saturday, May 3, and Ipswich on Sunday, May 18 — the two teams they were promoted with and are now set to be relegated alongside.

The Ipswich match will be a landmark occasion for Vardy, marking his final appearance at King Power Stadium and potentially his 500th game for Leicester, provided he plays the preceding fixtures against Wolves, Southampton, and Nottingham Forest.

As for Winks, he continues to train with the squad but is not expected to feature under van Nistelrooy’s management, despite earlier suggestions from the manager that opportunities for players to re-enter the squad remained open.
