“Report: Everton identify new position to strengthen following David Moyes’ appointment”
"David Moyes begins his second spell at Everton, marking a new era on Merseyside."

Everton parted ways with Sean Dyche last week following a five-game winless streak, leaving the club just one point above the relegation zone.
In response, David Moyes was swiftly appointed by the Friedkin Group on a two-year deal to stabilize the club.
His primary objective will be to ensure Everton’s Premier League survival, particularly as they prepare to move into their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock next season.
To achieve this, Moyes will need reinforcements during the January transfer window.

Everton have already been linked with striker Evan Ferguson, while a right-back is also believed to be a priority.
However, following Moyes’ appointment, strengthening at left-back has also emerged as a key focus.
Currently, Vitaliy Mykolenko is the only left-back at the club, but his inconsistent performances suggest the need for either an upgrade or a reliable backup.
According to TEAMtalk, Everton have entered discussions for a potential target, though the player’s identity remains undisclosed.
There is speculation it could be Lyon’s Ernest Nuamah, as the Toffees are reportedly close to finalizing a deal for the wide player.
Everton are also monitoring Flamengo’s Wesley Franca for the right-back position, while winger Jaden Philogene had been linked before opting to join Ipswich Town instead.
Given the team’s ongoing struggles in front of goal, Everton should prioritize investing in attacking players.
However, signing an affordable and capable deputy at left-back would still be a smart move.
One potential option is Newcastle United’s Matt Targett, who would bring experience and competition to Mykolenko’s position.
According to journalist Alan Nixon, Newcastle are open to letting the 29-year-old leave this winter, with Leicester City and Brentford already showing interest.
Targett could be an ideal, cost-effective solution for Everton as they aim to bolster their squad in the fight for survival.
