Leicester City Board Criticized as Major Issue Highlighted Following Man Utd Defeat

Leicester City’s recruitment since their Premier League return has come under heavy criticism.

The Foxes are facing an immediate drop back to the Championship after a crushing 3-0 loss to Manchester United at the King Power Stadium left them nine points from safety with nine matches remaining.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side also set an unwanted record, becoming the first top-flight team to lose seven consecutive home games without scoring.

Speaking on Match of the Day 2, pundit Troy Deeney described their situation as dire.

“I’ve been in relegation battles, and these are the games—Wolves, Palace, Fulham, Brentford—where you must score.

Those are the matches where you think, ‘We can get something.’

“You can accept losing to Man United, Arsenal, and Man City, but to not score in seven straight defeats? They’re conceding heavily and not scoring.

“Right now, whether it’s Van Nistelrooy, the board, or the entire team, nothing seems to be working.

“They need to reflect over the next few weeks and decide on a direction.

Their summer recruitment is crucial because, for me, that’s been the biggest issue. It has been all over the place.”
