Tottenham Still Interested in PSG Forward Randal Kolo Muani, Says Graeme Bailey
Tottenham Hotspur broke their transfer record to sign Dominic Solanke from AFC Bournemouth last summer, but the striker delivered a rather underwhelming campaign.
He managed just nine goals and three assists across 27 Premier League appearances.
Before Solanke, Richarlison was the club’s most expensive signing, yet his time at Tottenham has also been disappointing.
Persistent fitness issues have limited the Brazilian’s impact, and he currently plays second fiddle to Solanke.
As a result, new Spurs boss Thomas Frank appears keen to strengthen his attacking options. According to TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey, Tottenham maintain a long-standing interest in Randal Kolo Muani.
The club attempted to sign the French forward in January, but he opted for a loan move to Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain instead.
This summer, PSG are reportedly open to selling Kolo Muani permanently for around £43 million.
The Ligue 1 champions have been in talks with Juventus, as the player is keen to remain at the Allianz Stadium.
However, the Italian side are reluctant to commit to a permanent deal this summer and prefer another loan with a future purchase option. PSG, on the other hand, will only agree to a loan if Juventus make it an obligation to buy.
Should talks with Juventus collapse, Kolo Muani would be open to a move elsewhere, including a switch to the Premier League.
Tottenham remain interested, and intermediaries working on the player’s behalf have held discussions with the club. In addition, Manchester United and Aston Villa have also been informed about his availability.
Kolo Muani joined PSG in a high-profile transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt but struggled to settle at the Parc des Princes.
Nevertheless, during his time at Juventus, he showed signs of his potential, contributing 13 goals and assists combined in all competitions.
At 26, Kolo Muani is entering his prime years. If Tottenham succeed in securing his signature, he could prove to be a clever addition to Thomas Frank’s squad this summer.
