Tottenham Eye Summer Move for Lyon Striker Georges Mikautadze
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury specialist, has evaluated Georges Mikautadze’s fitness record in recent seasons as the forward edges closer to a potential move.
The Georgia international enjoyed a strong campaign in France, recording 28 goal contributions in 47 appearances across all competitions.
Mikautadze Praised for Staying Injury-Free
Dr Brar believes Tottenham have no reason for concern regarding the 24-year-old’s fitness. Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, the physical therapy doctor and sports scientist noted:
“He didn’t suffer any injuries last season and featured in 34 league matches, which is a strong indicator of his durability.
His minutes across different competitions were also consistent — another good sign.
Even looking back over 2023/24, there’s nothing that raises any red flags.”
Tottenham remain frontrunners in the race to sign Mikautadze, although they are not the only Premier League club showing interest.
Italian outlet Tutto Juve (26 June) recently reported that Lyon’s current financial crisis — worsened by their relegation to Ligue 2 — could force them to sell the attacker.

Tottenham are encouraged to finalise a deal swiftly. Mikautadze’s versatility and proven scoring record make him an ideal fit for the club’s ambitions.
He can operate as a central striker, on the left wing, or in an attacking midfield role, giving manager Thomas Frank valuable tactical options.
Following his standout performances last season, Mikautadze could significantly bolster Spurs’ attacking depth, complementing players like Dominic Solanke.
With Lyon under pressure to sell, Spurs may be able to secure him for a fee in the region of £25 million — a potential bargain for a player of his calibre, especially with Champions League football on the horizon.
