Interestingly, Sandy Easdale’s shares, once believed to be crucial to any deal, are no longer required, clearing a major hurdle in the process.

As the club continues its managerial search, one name who won’t be returning is Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Despite leading Rangers to a Europa League final and a Scottish Cup win in 2022, the Dutchman has ruled out a comeback, saying on TNT Sports: “No. For me, that book is closed. Maybe as a fan, but no.”
