Tottenham End Pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White This Summer
Tottenham Hotspur appeared poised to secure the signing of England international Morgan Gibbs-White earlier this summer, having activated the £60 million release clause in his Nottingham Forest contract.
The move, which was expected to follow swiftly after the arrival of Mohammed Kudus, stalled unexpectedly when Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis accused Spurs of making an illegal approach.

Following this setback, Tottenham have now shifted their attention to a new target. According to Spanish outlet AS, the north London club are preparing a move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo.
Spurs are said to have “burst in” on the race to sign the Brazilian after Arsenal cooled their interest following the capture of Viktor Gyokeres.
With funds still available, Tottenham are reportedly looking to back manager Thomas Frank with a marquee signing.
Tottenham hope to negotiate Real Madrid’s €90 million (£79m) asking price down to a figure closer to the £60 million they were ready to pay for Gibbs-White.
Rodrygo’s future in Madrid appears uncertain under new manager Xabi Alonso, who handed him only 92 minutes at the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.
However, the 24-year-old wants clarification on his role at the club before considering a move away.
Signed from Santos at just 17 for £39 million, Rodrygo has scored 68 goals and registered 51 assists in 270 games for Los Blancos.
Spurs, however, are not alone in their pursuit. Liverpool are also keen on the Brazilian.
With Bayern Munich closing in on a deal for Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez expected to depart, the Reds are in the market for a new wide attacker.
TBR Football reports that Liverpool have already opened talks with Real Madrid over a potential transfer for Rodrygo, putting Tottenham in direct competition with the Premier League champions for his signature.
