Tottenham Hotspur have received a boost in their pursuit of a transfer target, as one of the players they are interested in has expressed a preference to stay in the Premier League instead of moving abroad this month.
It has been a challenging season for Spurs, with Thomas Frank facing significant pressure due to his team’s ongoing struggles.
Richarlison, who is currently sidelined with an injury, is the club’s top scorer with eight goals.
The only other senior striker at the club is Dominic Solanke, who is just returning from a lengthy absence after undergoing ankle surgery.
The majority of goals have come from defensive players, with centre-backs Micky Van De Ven and Cristian Romero contributing seven and six goals respectively across all competitions.
Tottenham has only won two of their last 14 Premier League matches and, as a result, have turned to the transfer market for reinforcements.
Earlier this month, midfielder Conor Gallagher was signed from Atletico Madrid, along with young left-back Souza from Santos.
However, it seems Tottenham’s focus remains on strengthening their attacking options before the transfer window closes on February 2nd.
Omar Marmoush, a forward currently with Manchester City, is reportedly of interest to the London club.
According to reports from Turkey, Fenerbahce is also pursuing the Egypt international, but Marmoush is keen to stay in England.
Tottenham is said to have a “keen” interest in the player, who joined City during the 2025 winter transfer window.
Marmoush has impressed manager Pep Guardiola, who praised the forward following City’s 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, where Marmoush scored the opening goal.
Guardiola was effusive in his praise, saying, “Last season when he arrived, he was unbelievable for two or three months. Without him, it would have been impossible to qualify for the Champions League or reach the FA Cup final.”
Guardiola continued, “He is a special player—not too old, not too young—with room to improve.
His dynamic energy and sense of goal are really good. I see him more as a striker than a winger, but he’s excellent in transition play. I’m so happy for him.”
Despite Guardiola’s positive comments, the Wolves match was only the third time this season that Marmoush has started a Premier League game.
Speculation surrounding his future has been rife, particularly after Manchester City signed forward Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth, who can play across the front line.
