In the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that he has heard “nothing” concrete about links between Graham Potter and the Everton managerial role, but acknowledged the possibility of a change at Goodison Park.
Potter, the former Chelsea manager, is looking to return to work and has been linked with the England job.
Given his time away from football, it would be considered a “risk” for him to replace Sean Dyche at this point.
Speculation about Dyche’s future stems from a potential ownership change, with John Textor reportedly pushing to take control of the club.
New owners often bring their own vision, which raises uncertainty around Dyche’s position, especially after Everton’s poor start to the season.
Currently, Everton sit at the bottom of the Premier League table, having lost all three of their opening games, scoring just two goals and conceding 10.
Despite these setbacks, there is belief within the club that Dyche is the right man for the job and can turn their fortunes around.
The expectation is that, once momentum builds, Everton will begin to climb the table, as the squad is seen as strong enough to compete.
Their next test comes on Saturday, September 14, when they travel to face Aston villa.
