Angel Gomes is set to depart Lille at the end of his contract, with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly among the clubs interested in signing the 24-year-old midfielder.

Gomes confirmed his exit on Instagram, reflecting on his “unforgettable” four-year spell in France.

The former Manchester United player will be available as a free agent, adding to his appeal—particularly after earning three England caps under Lee Carsley last year.

Gomes joined Lille in 2020 after leaving Manchester United, initially spending a season on loan at Boavista in Portugal before becoming a key figure under Paulo Fonseca. This season, he made 20 appearances in all competitions.

Both Tottenham and West Ham are believed to be leading the race for the midfielder, while Ligue 1 side Marseille have also expressed interest. Gomes made his senior England debut as a substitute in a 2-0 win over Ireland.

Known for his versatility, Gomes can operate as an attacking midfielder or in a deeper role.

His availability on a free transfer makes him an attractive option for Spurs, who already have midfielders like Yves Bissouma, Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Pape Matar Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur, and James Maddison.
