With Thomas Frank now at the helm, Spurs are preparing for a busy summer in the transfer market as they aim to reshape the squad for 2025/26.
Strengthening the attack remains a top priority, with the club reportedly eyeing Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo, who is also attracting interest from Manchester United.
However, Brentford’s Yoane Wissa has recently emerged as a strong target. According to The Guardian, Spurs have held internal discussions about the DR Congo international, who scored 19 Premier League goals in 35 matches under Frank last season.
Nottingham Forest are also in the race after previously having a £22m bid rejected in January.
While Bryan Mbeumo has also been linked with a move to Spurs—understandable given his 20-goal season—Brentford are demanding around £70m for the Cameroonian.
Manchester United are reportedly keen as well. With Brennan Johnson in fine form, spending such a hefty sum on Mbeumo, who plays a similar role, may not be wise.
Wissa, on the other hand, offers a more versatile option. Described as “unbelievable” by Frank, the forward provides a central threat—something Spurs have lacked since Harry Kane’s departure.
His stats compare favourably to Dominic Solanke, outperforming him in goals, shots on target, final-third passes, and progressive carries. Wissa’s aerial ability and movement also make him a well-rounded forward.
Though Brentford’s asking price is yet to be revealed, Wissa has proven himself at Premier League level.
For Tottenham, prioritising a move for the Congolese attacker over Mbeumo could be key in bolstering Frank’s new-look frontline.
