Expert Claims Daniel Farke “Will Be Sacked by Leeds” if Promotion Bid Fails

Former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson, a well-connected figure at the club, recently discussed the pressure on manager Daniel Farke during the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.

Robinson explained that while Farke has enjoyed a strong run of form that has positioned Leeds within three points of Sunderland at the top of the Championship, his job security would waver if results were to falter.

After last season’s disappointing playoff final loss to Southampton, sections of the Leeds fanbase remain skeptical of Farke’s suitability.

They believe he may not be the right manager to guide Leeds back to the Premier League.

This season, failing to secure promotion could almost certainly lead to his dismissal, as reaching the Premier League has become a critical objective for the club.

Financial pressures at Leeds are also intensifying.

The club was compelled to sell key players, including Archie Gray and Crysenico Summerville, over the summer to stabilize their finances.

Another year in the Championship would strain the club’s finances further, and Farke would likely lose his job in such a scenario.

Following the playoff disappointment, many anticipated Farke’s departure; however, the Leeds board ultimately chose to back him for another promotion bid.

Robinson, however, stressed that serious scrutiny will emerge if Leeds appear likely to miss out on promotion as the season progresses.

“The requirement is to be in the Premier League,” Robinson said on Football Insider.

“As soon as Leeds lose a game, fall out of the top two, or drop from the playoff spots with promotion in doubt, there’s an issue.”

Reflecting on the previous season and current squad strength, Robinson pointed out, “They came close last year and have shown what they’re capable of.

With the players at his disposal, they were preseason favorites to go up.”

He continued, “If Farke doesn’t get Leeds United promoted this season, real questions will arise.

You expect this manager, with these players, to achieve that goal.

If he falls short again, there’ll be major concerns about his future, but for now, you stick with him and give him the rest of the season.”

The stakes are high for Farke, whose performance will likely be closely monitored throughout Leeds’ quest for promotion.
