Ridvan Yilmaz Likely to Remain at Rangers as Besiktas Pursue Roma's Samuel Dahl, Says Sabah.
A Turkish news outlet reported on February 2nd that a Super Lig club is targeting a loan-to-buy deal for the 21-year-old left-back.
This move is seen as an alternative to Ridvan Yilmaz, whom the Turkish side had previously shown interest in but only for a loan deal, as stated by Gokmen Ozcan on January 31st.
If the deal goes through, it could prevent Yilmaz from leaving Ibrox.
Yilmaz has made just 13 league appearances for Rangers this season, with Jefte being the preferred option for left-back.
As a result, Yilmaz has often been used in other positions during the campaign.
It’s clear that Philippe Clement doesn’t consider Yilmaz a first-choice player, so allowing his departure wouldn’t be surprising.
However, if Besiktas succeeds in bringing in Roma’s Dahl on a loan-to-buy deal, it seems unlikely they will pursue Yilmaz, as they had only been interested in a loan and would likely see Dahl as a better option.
Although Yilmaz is not a regular starter, the manager will still need reliable backup options in his squad.
With the transfer window nearing its close, keeping the left-back for the time being may prove more beneficial for Rangers, as it would prevent them from being short on squad depth. This could ultimately help the team more than letting him go.
