While Casadei isn’t their main target, he remains on their radar as he was in January, when a loan with an obligation to buy and a buyback clause was considered.
In January, Casadei returned to Chelsea from his loan at Leicester City, where he had been playing under Enzo Maresca, now Chelsea’s head coach. Casadei had more involvement at Leicester than at Chelsea, but his future for next season remains uncertain despite Maresca’s presence.
It’s conceivable that the 21-year-old former Inter Milan prospect might need another loan, and a move to a Serie A team with European ambitions, like Lazio, could be a suitable option.
