Lilywhite Rose: ‘World-class’ Tottenham player set for summer sale, transfer discussions already underway.

It has been a challenging season for Cristian Romero, as injuries have kept him sidelined for much of the campaign, leading to some subtle criticism of Tottenham’s medical staff.

With two years remaining on his contract this summer, the timing seems right for both Romero and Tottenham to part ways, and this is what is expected to happen.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Romero and could make a substantial offer to Tottenham this summer.

According to Sacha Tavolieri (March 31), Romero has already spoken with Atletico’s manager Diego Simeone and is enthusiastic about the opportunity to join the Spanish side.

While Simeone’s approach has been questioned, John Wenham, the owner of Lilywhite Rose, expressed his belief that Atletico is the ideal club for Romero, and that now is the right time for Tottenham to allow his departure.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham stated, “I can’t think of a better club for Romero. From Tottenham’s perspective, it’s time for a fresh start.

For various reasons, Romero’s time at Spurs hasn’t worked out as hoped.

Even though he’s one of our few world-class players, I think this summer is the right moment to let him go.”

However, there is the matter of the £40million Tottenham paid for Romero.

Wenham noted that while the Spanish side has the financial resources—evidenced by their signing of Julián Alvarez—they will need to make a reasonable offer for Romero.

“This deal must be a good one for Tottenham, but I do expect Romero to leave permanently,” he added.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will only approve the sale if the terms are favorable.

It’s believed that a bid of £75million could be enough to secure Romero’s departure, though the final price remains to be seen.
