On Monday (15 July), PlanetSport reported that Finnish midfielder Glen Kamara has signed a contract with Ligue 1 side Rennes, netting Leeds United £8.4 million for his transfer.
Tottenham are reportedly keen to sign a replacement for Oliver Skipp before allowing him to leave North London. However, Leeds could potentially secure Skipp on loan with an option for a permanent transfer.
Initially, Skipp was part of negotiations during Archie Gray’s high-profile move to Spurs, but Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou was unwilling to approve his exit at that point in the window.

Leeds United needs to bolster their midfield this summer after losing both Kamara and Gray early in the transfer window. While the acquisition of Joe Rothwell is a sensible move, given his Championship experience and impressive performances at that level, he alone cannot fill the gap left by the departing midfielders alongside Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev.
Skipp has a proven track record of success in the Championship, especially under the management of Daniel Farke. If Leeds can finalize a deal, he would be an ideal addition to the squad.
However, Leeds cannot afford to wait for Spurs to find a replacement for Skipp. With pre-season in full swing and the new Championship season approaching, the club needs new recruits urgently.
Hopefully, Leeds’ new bid for Skipp will be accepted by Tottenham, allowing an agreement to be reached swiftly. If not, Farke and his recruitment team will need to quickly identify and pursue alternative targets.
