Journalist: Everton interested in Premier League striker available for January loan

Dean Jones: Everton linked with Brighton striker Evan Ferguson ahead of January transfer window

Journalist Dean Jones has reported links between Everton and Republic of Ireland international Evan Ferguson, who is reportedly available for a loan move from Brighton in January.

Meanwhile, Everton’s striking options remain under scrutiny.

Beto has been linked with a potential exit from Goodison Park [Spazio Inter, 16 December], and doubts persist over Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s long-term reliability.

Speaking on the Ranks FC podcast [18 December], Jones shared: “He’s available on loan from Brighton in the second half of the season.

At the moment, Ferguson, when you’re looking at links, it’s looking like Leicester, Everton, or Southampton.”

Everton Need Evan Ferguson in January

While Sean Dyche may have welcomed Armando Broja back from injury, Everton’s attacking woes continue.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been the first-choice striker this season but has managed only two goals in 15 Premier League appearances.

Beto, who joined Everton earlier this year, has failed to displace Calvert-Lewin and has had a disappointing stint so far, with rumors of a potential departure looming.

Currently sitting in 16th place and just three points above the relegation zone, Everton are in a desperate battle to stay in the Premier League.

Their attack remains one of the weakest in the league, scoring the second-fewest goals so far this season.

Ferguson, who made his breakthrough at Brighton two seasons ago, has struggled for regular minutes under new manager Fabian Hurzeler.

A loan move to Everton could provide the perfect opportunity for the Toffees to add much-needed firepower while offering the 20-year-old striker valuable game time.
