An intriguing option not yet widely discussed is Middlesbrough’s Michael Carrick.
The former Manchester United assistant manager has led Boro to fifth place in the Championship, playing an attractive style of football.
Carrick’s team is the second-highest scorer in the division, trailing only Leeds United, which would likely appeal to Everton fans.
However, appointing Carrick could prove challenging due to potential compensation fees, as the Friedkin Group would need to pay to release him from his contract.
This could be difficult given Everton’s Financial Fair Play restrictions.
