Everton could still revive their interest in Southampton’s highly-rated youngster Tyler Dibling, according to Fabrizio Romano on GIVEMESPORT’s Market Madness podcast—despite closing in on the loan capture of England international Jack Grealish for the wide positions.

Earlier in the transfer window, the Toffees made an approach for Dibling, tabling an opening bid of £27 million.

A third proposal, worth around £40 million, was also rejected. Southampton remain firm in their valuation, holding out for £50 million for their prized asset.

This stance has, in recent weeks, pushed David Moyes to step back from active negotiations for the 18-year-old winger.

Grealish is now set to arrive after slipping down the pecking order at Manchester City. Everton are expected to pay about £15 million for the season-long loan, with a £50 million option to buy if the treble winner rediscovers top form on Merseyside.

Despite the scale of the Grealish deal, Romano suggests Everton may not be entirely out of the running for Dibling. Speaking exclusively on the podcast, he explained:

They focused on the Jack Grealish deal in recent days—so after last week’s negotiations for Tyler Dibling, they decided to move on to Grealish.

Now, let’s see if the price changes, or if Southampton are open to a different deal structure. Maybe Everton can still enter the race again.

For now, it’s quiet because the valuation remains very high, and Southampton have no plans to change their stance. But in the market, sometimes things happen.”

If Dibling were to join, competition for minutes could be fierce. Everton’s current wing options include Grealish, Dwight McNeil, Iliman Ndiaye, and Charly Alcaraz. However, tactical adjustments could free up opportunities.

For example, Ndiaye or Grealish could be deployed behind the striker, opening a spot on the right flank—Dibling’s preferred position—where he could continue his development in the Premier League.

With Southampton in no rush to sell and Everton unwilling to meet the current asking price, the situation may hinge on late-window shifts in valuation or negotiation structure.

For now, Grealish’s impending arrival takes centre stage, but Dibling remains a potential target if circumstances change before the window closes.
