It was also revealed last month that Tel is unhappy with his situation at Spurs, making a January exit—likely a loan—an increasingly realistic prospect.

However, given Tel’s proximity to the first team, Spurs may hesitate to let him leave without securing a suitable replacement, especially after their recent injury issues.
