Tottenham are in urgent need of a high-quality forward, and the 25-year-old is seen as a strong fit.
Capable of playing both as a central striker and on the left, he is viewed as a potential long-term successor to Son Heung-min.
The North London side have struggled without a dynamic presence like the South Korean, someone who can consistently beat defenders and deliver goals.
Mikautadze appears to tick those boxes. Still relatively young and with considerable room to grow, he possesses the technical skill set needed to adapt to Premier League demands.
His former coach Emilio Ferrera even called him “a phenomenon” (via Telegrafi), praising his varied finishing ability.
According to Ferrera, the Georgian can score in numerous ways – with either foot, from range, or after beating his marker – though he jokingly noted heading is not his strongest asset.
