Tottenham ‘considering’ move for 10-goal striker in second French swoop following Danso signing
Tottenham are reportedly considering a move for Lorient striker Eli Junior Kroupi, valued at £20 million, following the signing of Kevin Danso.
Spurs have faced setbacks in the January transfer window, prioritizing a striker and a centre-back but failing to secure their top targets.
Mathys Tel was their preferred choice for the forward position, but despite Bayern Munich agreeing to the deal, the 19-year-old rejected the move.
He still has other options, including Manchester United and Aston Villa, though Villa’s recent signings may limit their chances.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham are now assessing the possibility of signing Kroupi, who has impressed in Ligue 2 this season with nine league goals and one in the Coupe de France.
Lorient are reportedly open to selling the 18-year-old for the right price, with £20 million being the suggested valuation.
However, as Kroupi is seen as a long-term prospect rather than an immediate first-team option, Spurs may hesitate to invest such a sum.
Despite this, they remain interested, and if they proceed with the transfer, Kroupi would be their second French signing in a short period.
Spurs have already bolstered their defence after missing out on Fikayo Tomori by securing Lens centre-back Danso.
Fabrizio Romano revealed that Danso was initially close to joining Wolves before Tottenham swooped in to finalize a deal worth around £20.9 million.
The club announced that the defender will initially join on a six-month loan before making the move permanent in the summer.
On his arrival, Danso expressed his excitement, stating, “It’s an amazing project to be part of, and I’m happy to be here.”
