Tottenham Half-Time Player Ratings vs Ipswich: Defender’s Costly Mistake Earns 5/10

Half-Time Player Ratings: Assessing Tottenham’s Performance Against Ipswich Town

As both teams prepare to return to the pitch for the second half, we have assessed the performances of Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham players from the first 45 minutes at Portman Road.

Postecoglou made three changes to his starting lineup, bringing in Destiny Udogie, Archie Gray, and Brennan Johnson in place of Pedro Porro, Ben Davies, and James Maddison.

Yesterday, we reported that Maddison sustained an injury following Tottenham’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United, which led to him starting today’s match on the bench.

Tottenham First-Half Player Ratings vs Ipswich Town

Archie Gray – Had a tough challenge dealing with the dangerous Liam Delap but managed a fantastic lofted pass to release Son for Tottenham’s opener. 6

Kevin Danso – Started shakily but improved as the half progressed. However, he lost possession outside the penalty area, leading to Ipswich’s goal. 5

Destiny Udogie – Returning from injury, his speed down the left flank has posed problems for Ipswich. 6

Heung-min Son – Showed skill and composure down the left, delivering a brilliant cross for Johnson’s first goal. Assisted Johnson again for the second with another excellent setup. 8

Mathys Tel – Struggled to get on the ball as Ipswich crowded the midfield. Needs to be more physical when in possession. 5

Brennan Johnson – Booked in the 14th minute for a needless foul to halt an Ipswich counterattack. Scored Tottenham’s first goal with a close-range finish and added a well-taken second soon after. 7
