According to The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur are not planning to upgrade their second-choice goalkeeper situation during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Last summer, Spurs signed Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli, who has since been the first-choice goalkeeper under manager Ange Postecoglou.
Fraser Forster, who joined Tottenham in the summer of 2022, has made 21 appearances for the club so far. However, the 36-year-old found himself behind Vicario in the pecking order, featuring only once in the recently concluded season.
Forster’s current contract with Spurs runs until June 2025, and the club has not yet offered him a new deal. Despite Forster entering the final year of his contract, Tottenham are not seeking to bring in a new second-choice goalkeeper.
Tottenham also have Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman, both products of their academy, as backup options. Whiteman has made one senior appearance for the club, while Austin has yet to debut for the first team.
