“Tottenham in Talks for New Defender After Danso Signing – Fabrizio Romano Provides Update”

Tottenham Hotspur remain active in their pursuit of another centre-back as the January transfer window enters its final 36 hours.

Despite securing Kevin Danso from Lens—snatching him from Wolverhampton Wanderers—there is still frustration in their attempts to land AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori.

According to Fabrizio Romano, speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, the England international has yet to approve a move to North London.

Spurs have faced significant defensive challenges this season, with injuries to key players such as Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario, and Micky van de Ven.

While individual performances have been commendable, the lack of cohesion at the back has proven costly.

As a result, the club found itself slipping to 16th in the Premier League table by the end of Saturday.

Romano: Tomori Yet to Give Spurs the Green Light

In response to these struggles, Tottenham have actively sought reinforcements.

Antonin Kinsky arrived to provide competition for Vicario in goal after Fraser Forster’s struggles, while Danso was secured on Sunday morning.

Wolves had nearly completed a deal for the Austrian before Spurs intervened, just hours after Wolves’ 2-0 victory over Aston Villa.

However, further additions are necessary, and Tomori has emerged as a prime target. Despite ongoing negotiations, reports suggest he has rejected the move.

Romano reinforced this stance, stating that Tomori has yet to approve the transfer.

Speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, Romano revealed:

“Tottenham have been in contact with AC Milan over Tomori, and Milan are open to selling him. Negotiations are ongoing for a fee of around €25 million plus add-ons.

However, the player has not yet given the green light, so let’s see if Spurs can convince him.”

With Danso, Romero, Van de Ven, and Radu Dragusin as available centre-back options, Spurs should see defensive improvements after their recent struggles.

However, adding Tomori would further bolster their depth, particularly given his Premier League experience with Chelsea.

Whether they can persuade him to make the move remains to be seen.
