Over the weekend, Corriere del Mezzogiorno reported an impending ‘auction’ between Tottenham Hotspur and Napoli for Vanderson during the summer transfer window. However, the Serie A club is hesitant to meet AS Monaco’s €30 million valuation.
According to Trivela in Brazil, Spurs have earmarked the Brazilian as a replacement for his compatriot, Emerson Royal. Tottenham are in talks with AC Milan regarding Emerson’s transfer, which would pave the way for them to sign the Ligue 1 right-back.
It is stated that Ange Postecoglou’s team recently reached out to Monaco about Vanderson but has not yet made a formal offer. Spurs have sought information on the terms required to secure the South American’s services, with Napoli’s interest also noted in the report.
The 23-year-old Brazilian has four years remaining on his Monaco contract. The report highlights that the club’s €30 million asking price could be a hurdle for both Spurs and Napoli.
Trivela mentions that Vanderson received offers from Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Barcelona last year. They further state that Vanderson harbors a ‘dream’ of playing in the Premier League, a dream that Spurs could help realize, especially if Emerson departs from the north London club.
