Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly growing increasingly confident of securing a deal for a £25 million striker, who could potentially arrive alongside West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus, according to a new update.
Spurs in talks over Kudus move
Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg has confirmed that Tottenham are in active negotiations to sign Mohammed Kudus, with the Ghana international said to be eager for a switch across London.
Kudus, who currently plays for West Ham, is seen as a key target as Spurs prepare for possible changes in their attacking setup.
This interest comes amid uncertainty over the future of captain Son Heung-min. While the South Korean forward is expected to stay for one more year, Spurs are looking at long-term replacements.
Meanwhile, Richarlison’s future remains unclear, with Everton and several other Premier League clubs reportedly monitoring the Brazilian closely. Should he leave, Tottenham would need to reinforce their attacking options.
Tottenham confident of landing Guessand
Tottenham have now turned their attention to OGC Nice striker Evann Guessand, and Football Insider claims the club is confident about winning the race for his signature.
The 24-year-old has also attracted interest from Brighton & Hove Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers, but Spurs appear to be in pole position.
Nice have set a modest price tag of £20–25 million following Guessand’s standout 2024–25 season. Transfer expert Pete O’Rourke also noted interest from Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce, though he reports that the player is not keen on a move to Turkey—favouring a switch to the Premier League instead.
O’Rourke stated:
“Brighton, West Ham, Wolves… Tottenham I’m sure would be pretty hopeful that, if they do follow up their interest, they could win the race for his services.”
Guessand offers quality and versatility
Guessand has proven his versatility by playing on both wings and as a central striker.
The Ivory Coast international enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season, recording 12 goals and nine assists in 33 Ligue 1 matches—his most productive to date.
He averaged a 7.19 match rating in Ligue 1 and was Nice’s second-best-performing player, surpassing the average rating of every Tottenham player who featured in more than six Premier League games.
With Richarlison missing 37 games through injury last season, Guessand could provide much-needed depth and quality.
Considering his age, output, and price tag, Guessand may represent a bargain for Spurs—and a move to north London would likely be more appealing than options at Wolves or Brighton.
