Tottenham Submit Bid for £84m South American Star as Postecoglou Shows Strong Interest

According to Caught Offside, Spurs are also targeting a midfielder, with Postecoglou reportedly “very keen” on signing Rios.

Tottenham have already made an opening offer, but the Colombian midfielder’s current contract includes an £84m (€100m) release clause, and his club has rejected the initial bid.

Tottenham face competition from Everton and Nottingham Forest, who are also pushing hard to secure Rios’ signature.

Rios is a dynamic box-to-box midfielder who can also provide cover in a defensive midfield role.

With limited options in midfield—Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Matar Sarr, and Lucas Bergvall—Tottenham could benefit from his addition.

Bentancur has struggled with injuries, and Bergvall is still developing, highlighting the need for reinforcements.

Rios possesses the attributes to thrive in the Premier League, making him a valuable potential acquisition.

However, it remains to be seen if Tottenham can secure his services before the transfer deadline.
