Tottenham Hotspur are exploring solutions to bypass the obstacles blocking their January move for Ivan Toney from Al-Ahli.

Now, it appears Spurs may have identified a potential way to overcome those hurdles.
Tottenham explore Ivan Toney loan deal
According to a fresh report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are now leading the race for the 29-year-old forward.
The outlet claims that Frank has already held discussions with Toney regarding a potential switch to North London.
A permanent transfer, however, seems unlikely in January. Spurs are reluctant to meet Al-Ahli’s £30 million asking price, while Toney could also face a significant tax bill if his high-paying Saudi contract is cut short.
As a result, Tottenham are believed to be exploring a loan move, viewed as the “only viable option.”
This arrangement would allow Al-Ahli to protect their investment while giving Toney the chance to return to top-flight football in England.
The report further states that Toney and Frank maintain a close relationship, which could play a key role in convincing the striker to make the move.
The forward’s familiarity with Frank’s tactical approach is also said to appeal to him.
Spurs see Toney as Richarlison’s replacement
TEAMtalk adds that Tottenham consider Toney the perfect short-term solution to strengthen their attacking options.
The club view him as a direct replacement for Richarlison and could even include an obligation to buy clause at the end of the season.
However, Tottenham are not alone in their pursuit. West Ham United are also keen, while Everton are monitoring developments closely as Toney’s future continues to attract significant Premier League interest.
