RANGERS BOMBSHELL! They’re Secretly Lining Up a jaw-dropping £40M WORLD-CLASS SUPERSTAR on Loan This Summer… Shankland is Going to Be OBSESSED! Fans are NOT ready for this absolute GAME-CHANGER. One opinion writer is claiming it’s done. Shankland will LOVE his new superstar partner. Is this the signing that finally takes Rangers back to the top?! You won’t believe who it is…

After a hugely disappointing finish to the campaign, Danny Röhl and Rangers are fully aware that significant improvements are required if they are to challenge for major honours next season.
The club’s collapse during the latter stages of the 2025/26 campaign exposed weaknesses throughout the squad, making the upcoming transfer window one of the most important in recent years.
The Light Blues have wasted little time in addressing those concerns.
Their move to secure Hearts captain Lawrence Shankland represents a major statement of intent ahead of the 2026/27 season and signals that Rangers are determined to strengthen from a position of ambition rather than simply rebuild.

Attention has also turned towards reinforcing key areas of the squad, particularly down the spine of the team.
Midfield and central defence have emerged as priority positions, with a number of targets being closely monitored by the recruitment department.
In midfield, Sunderland captain Dan Neil and Burton Albion’s Elliot Watt are understood to be among the leading candidates under consideration.
Meanwhile, at the heart of defence, Rangers continue to be linked with Dutch-based centre-back Casper Widell, who currently plays for Excelsior.

All three players would add quality and depth to Röhl’s squad, but there may be an even more exciting addition on the horizon that could significantly enhance the team’s attacking options.
Rangers could still add another attacking player
Although Shankland’s arrival from Hearts had been anticipated for some time, the speed at which the transfer was completed surprised many supporters.
The transfer window had not officially opened, and the summer’s international tournaments had barely begun, yet Rangers had already secured one of the most prolific strikers in Scottish football.
The Scotland international is now preparing to travel to North America as a Rangers player, bringing an end to years of speculation linking him with a move to Ibrox.
For Shankland, the transfer represents the fulfilment of a long-held ambition. A lifelong Rangers supporter, he has frequently been linked with the Glasgow giants throughout his career.
Now, after several years of rumours and near misses, he finally has the opportunity to lead the line for the club he grew up supporting.
However, Rangers’ recruitment work in attacking areas may not be finished.

The club have decided against activating their option to permanently sign Andres Skov Olsen, creating the possibility of further reinforcements out wide.
As a result, a new right-sided attacker could arrive either on a permanent deal or on loan before the season begins.
On the opposite flank, Rangers are reportedly eager to bring Mikey Moore back to Ibrox following his successful loan spell.
According to Rangers Review journalist Chris Jack, the winger remains a player the club are keen to re-sign, while the teenager himself is believed to feel he has unfinished business in Glasgow.
Whether another deal can be completed may ultimately depend on Tottenham Hotspur.
The North London club have entered a new era under manager Roberto De Zerbi, who may wish to assess Moore before making a decision on his future.

Why Moore could be the perfect partner for Shankland
There is little doubt that Rangers have secured one of the Scottish Premiership’s most reliable goalscorers in Shankland.
While players such as Tawanda Maswanhise and Hearts forward Claudio Braga have enjoyed impressive campaigns, few attackers in the division have demonstrated the same level of consistency over such a sustained period.
Shankland finished the 2025/26 league season with 16 goals, only one fewer than Maswanhise. Although he managed eight league goals during the previous campaign, his longer-term record remains exceptional.
The striker scored 24 league goals during both the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons, establishing himself as one of Scotland’s most feared finishers. His ability to find the net has never been in question.
The challenge for Röhl now is ensuring that his new striker receives the quality service required to maximise his strengths.
That is where Moore could prove invaluable.
While the young winger registered seven goals and four assists during his loan spell, those statistics only tell part of the story.

His influence on Rangers’ attacking play extended far beyond direct goal contributions.
Heart and Hand contributor David Edgar has even suggested that Moore’s market value could now be as high as £40 million, highlighting the remarkable progress he has made over the last year.
The underlying numbers further demonstrate his impact.
Among attacking players in the Premiership, only two created more big chances than Moore, who produced seven throughout the campaign. Likewise, only four forwards averaged more key passes per game than his impressive figure of 1.2.
His ability to beat defenders was equally noteworthy. Moore averaged 1.5 successful dribbles per match, a total surpassed only by Ibrahim Said and Sebastian Tounekti.
Those qualities make him exactly the type of player who could thrive alongside a clinical finisher such as Shankland.
Previously described as a “future superstar” by former Tottenham defender Gary Mabbutt, Moore has already shown enough to suggest he is capable of becoming one of the standout talents in British football.
Should Rangers succeed in bringing him back to Ibrox, Shankland would benefit enormously from the creativity, direct running and chance creation that Moore provides.
The Scotland international has already proven himself to be an elite goalscorer in the Premiership, but with a player of Moore’s quality supplying opportunities, there is every reason to believe he could reach an even higher level in a Rangers shirt next season.
