Tottenham still interested in £50m-rated Brazilian as transfer deadline approaches.

Tottenham may make a last-minute move for Wolverhampton Wanderers' midfield talent Joao Gomes.

Tottenham Hotspur have been highly active in the current transfer window, significantly strengthening their squad.

They extended Timo Werner’s loan and signed forwards Dominic Solanke and Wilson Odobert to boost their attack. In midfield, they added young talents Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall.

In addition to new arrivals, Spurs have offloaded eight players who were deemed surplus to requirements.

Manager Ange Postecoglou is likely pleased with the business done so far, but there may still be room for one more addition.

With less than 48 hours remaining in the transfer window, Tottenham are reportedly looking to sign another midfielder.

According to Dean Jones, Joao Gomes is a key target for the club.

Currently, Yves Bissouma is Postecoglou’s first-choice defensive midfielder.

However, with Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg both leaving, there’s a lack of competition for that position.

Gomes could provide the needed depth and quality.

Since joining Wolves in early 2023, the Brazilian international has adapted quickly to the Premier League and could be a valuable asset both now and in the future.

Discussing the potential signing on the Ranks FC Podcast, Jones mentioned that Spurs are seeking a midfielder with power and they admire the 23-year-old’s versatility—he can play as a defensive midfielder or slightly further up the field.

However, signing Gomes, who graduated from Flamengo and could cost around £50 million, might be challenging with the clock ticking down on the transfer window.
