Leicester City team news against Ipswich as Steve Cooper implements two unexpected changes.

Jannik Vestergaard and Victor Kristiansen join the backline as James Justin and Caleb Okoli miss out on a Premier League starting XI for the first time since August.

Jannik Vestergaard has earned his first Premier League start since August, taking the place of Caleb Okoli in the Ipswich lineup.

All 11 players who featured in City’s midweek loss to Manchester United have been replaced, resulting in two changes from the last Premier League match against Nottingham Forest.

In addition to Vestergaard for Okoli, fit-again Victor Kristiansen replaces James Justin, marking Justin’s first time out of the Premier League starting XI.

Ricardo Pereira retains his position in the backline, and it will be intriguing to see if the inverted full-back setup—used last season under Enzo Maresca and revisited against Forest—continues.

Given that two natural wingers have been selected, it seems likely.

Abdul Fatawu, who was a doubt due to a midweek groin issue, will start on the right.

Vestergaard’s inclusion is unexpected, especially since Okoli had pushed him out of the lineup before an ankle injury hindered his comeback.

However, Okoli’s recent performances have been subpar, including a costly mistake that led to a goal against United.

Justin’s omission is also surprising, as he has logged more minutes under Cooper than any other player.

After facing criticism from fans, he has now been replaced by Ricardo and Kristiansen.

In midfield, Wilfred Ndidi and Harry Winks will resume their partnership. Meanwhile, September Player of the Month nominee Facundo Buonanotte and Stephy Mavididi will join Fatawu in supporting striker Jamie Vardy.

On the bench, Cooper has opted for two centre-backs, including Okoli and Conor Coady, while Kasey McAteer returns to a Premier League squad for the first time in a while.

Odsonne Edouard and Bobby De Cordova-Reid are absent.

City’s lineup (4-2-3-1): Hermansen; Ricardo, Faes, Vestergaard, Kristiansen; Ndidi, Winks; Fatawu, Buonanotte, Mavididi; Vardy. Subs: Ward, Justin, Okoli, Coady, Skipp, Soumare, El Khannouss, McAteer, Ayew.
