Free Agent Undergoes Medical After Leaving Everton Last Season - Report

French journalist reported on 6 September that if his medical tests go well, 31-year-old Andre Gomes will sign for Lille.
The former Portugal international is available on a free transfer, just over two months after leaving Everton, and has chosen to return to the club he played for during the 2022/23 season.
Gomes struggled during his time at Goodison Park, with injuries frequently sidelining him for months.
His difficult spells at Everton led to limited appearances, making just 85 in total between 2018 and 2024 after a permanent move from Barcelona.

Injuries caused him to become a forgotten figure at Everton, and as his contract neared its end, it became clear that manager Sean Dyche had no plans to renew it.
Despite his struggles, Gomes ended his Everton career with a parting gift, scoring against Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace in his final season, doubling his goal tally for the club.
A return to Lille seems a logical move for all involved, allowing the midfielder to reunite with the club he previously played for on loan.
