‘West Ham Above All’ – Hammers Initiate Contact After Expressing ‘Strong Interest’ in Signing, Manager Needs Convincing

West Ham United are among the clubs pursuing Juventus’ Matias Soulé in the summer transfer window.
Earlier this month, Tuttosport reported that Juventus need €40m, while the Hammers are willing to pay only half of that amount. On Sunday, Gazzetta dello Sport indicated that Juve have lowered their request to €35m.
A fresh report from Calciomercato states the winger is now attracting interest from several European clubs, with West Ham showing the most interest. Julen Lopetegui’s side has expressed strong interest in the 21-year-old and has initiated contact with his representatives in recent days.
The Argentina U21 international was on loan at Frosinone last season, where he scored 11 goals and provided three assists in 36 league games.
Earlier reports suggested Juventus wanted to cash in on his sale this summer. However, new manager Thiago Motta, who admires the player, wants to keep him. Motta plans to take a closer look at Soulé during pre-season and may include him in his plans. As a result, Giuntoli is considering other players to sell to help Juventus improve their finances.
In other words, Motta will need to be convinced for West Ham to have a chance to sign Soulé this summer. Whether this is a negotiating tactic remains unclear.
