West Ham Eye Summer Move for Chelsea Goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic
Lukasz Fabianski has now played his final game for West Ham, while Alphonse Areola’s performances have not been convincing enough to secure his place as the long-term number one.
The Hammers are looking to bring in a new first-choice goalkeeper ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, and Djordje Petrovic has emerged as a serious contender.
West Ham had initially set their sights on Caoimhin Kelleher.
According to the Daily Mail (6 June), the club showed strong interest in the Irish goalkeeper once it became clear he would be leaving Liverpool in search of regular first-team football.
However, Kelleher ended up joining Brentford, forcing West Ham to look elsewhere.
Petrovic is now being considered as an option, with manager Graham Potter eager to strengthen the goalkeeper position following Areola’s inconsistent displays.
Petrovic was also highly regarded by Mauricio Pochettino during his time at Chelsea.

Having made 23 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, Petrovic has already shown he can perform in the English top flight.

There’s speculation that a deal could be facilitated through a swap involving Mohammed Kudus, which could make financial sense for both parties.
