West Ham Eyeing 21-Year-Old Powerhouse as Potential Soucek Replacement

West Ham had a busy summer, overhauling their squad in preparation for life under new manager Julen Lopetegui.

The club made several signings, including Crysencio Summerville, Max Kilman, Jean-Clair Todibo, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, as they aimed for a return to European competition this season.

However, the Hammers haven’t had the best start to their Premier League campaign, managing just one win in their first three matches.

With so many new arrivals, it’s expected to take time for the squad to gel.

Despite the recent close of the transfer window, West Ham are already being linked with new players.

According to TEAMtalk, the club has set their sights on Swansea City midfielder Abdulai.

The 21-year-old has made an impressive start to the Championship season, scoring two goals in five appearances.

West Ham scouts, along with those from Bournemouth, have been regularly monitoring the young midfielder.

Abdulai is a Scotland under-21 international and has two years remaining on his current contract with Swansea.

He has made just 16 appearances for the club since debuting in the 2022 Carabao Cup.

TEAMtalk reports that Swansea are aware of the growing interest in Abdulai and are eager to retain him.

However, if the player is unwilling to extend his contract, Swansea may be forced to sell, as his deal will have just 18 months remaining by January and one year next summer.

For West Ham, Abdulai could be a long-term midfield option. With James Ward-Prowse loaned to Nottingham Forest, it’s clear the club may be seeking a younger, more talented player to strengthen their midfield for the future.
