“West Ham in DESPERATE Chase for ‘Wizard-Like’ Playmaker Who’ll Leave Fans Speechless!”

West Ham United could intensify their efforts to sign Leicester City midfielder Bilal El Khannouss before the transfer window closes, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.

The Hammers have enjoyed a fairly steady summer in the market, adding El Hadji Malick Diouf, Kyle Walker-Peters, Callum Wilson, and Mads Hermansen.

Those signings have helped replace a number of experienced names who departed at the end of last season.

Attention is now shifting towards bringing in additional creativity, with Morocco international El Khannouss emerging as a major target for Graham Potter’s side.

West Ham eyeing El Khannouss swoop

El Khannouss, described as “magical” by scout Jacek Kulig, impressed for Leicester during the 2024/25 campaign, even though the Foxes were relegated back to the Championship after just one year in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old has a release clause of £22.5 million in his current deal at the King Power Stadium. Sources suggest he is widely expected to leave this summer, with multiple clubs, including West Ham, showing interest.

However, a deal could prove complicated for the east London club. While West Ham are keen, it remains unclear whether El Khannouss would welcome a move to the London Stadium.

The youngster is aware of the Hammers’ interest but is said to be unconvinced about joining Potter’s project.

Having already endured a difficult debut season in England with a relegated team, he is reluctant to risk a repeat scenario in 2025/26 if he returns to the top flight.

Financial concerns may also hinder West Ham’s chances. Although the Moroccan’s release clause makes his price tag clear, doubts remain about whether the club can realistically afford such a deal.

Last season, El Khannouss featured in 32 Premier League matches, scoring twice and producing a number of bright individual displays.

Despite his contribution, Leicester were ultimately relegated under Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has since left the club.
