West Ham United are stepping up their efforts to bolster their attacking options and are now reportedly competing with Manchester United to secure the signing of an emerging 18-year-old forward this summer.

Now, West Ham have turned their attention to Callum Wilson, recently released by Newcastle United.

According to L’Equipe, the Hammers are in a four-way battle with Manchester United, Wolves, and Serie B side Parma for the Senegalese striker.

Gueye, who currently plays for Metz, has drawn considerable attention after a breakout season in Ligue 2, scoring five goals.

Metz, newly promoted to Ligue 1, have reportedly placed a €20 million (£17 million) price tag on the promising forward.

Described by analyst Ben Mattinson as part of Senegal’s “exciting crop of talent,” Gueye is unlikely to be a first-team regular immediately but is viewed as a long-term prospect with significant potential.
