West Ham in Talks to Sign £25m Star as Director Arrives in UK to Finalize Deal – Report

West Ham United has been very active in the summer transfer window, having already signed eight players.

The East London club recently added Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund to their roster of center-forwards and is now seeking further reinforcements in that position.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, West Ham is seriously considering signing Tammy Abraham from AS Roma.

While no official offer has been made yet, Roma is aware of the Premier League club’s interest.

West Ham previously attempted to sign Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran without success and has now turned its attention to Abraham.

The goal is to pair Abraham with Fullkrug as the team aims to improve on last season’s ninth-place finish.

The Italian publication also mentions that Roma is hoping West Ham will soon present an offer for the England international.

Roma has listed Abraham among their “sellable” players who could bring in significant funds to help the club pursue other targets.

Gazzetta dello Sport further reports that Roma’s sporting director, Florent Ghisolfi, is currently in England to hold talks with West Ham and other clubs interested in the 26-year-old striker.

However, West Ham may face competition from Everton and Bournemouth, who are also interested in the former Chelsea player.

Abraham has two years remaining on his contract at Stadio Olimpico and is valued at €30m (£25m).

Roma might consider a lower offer of €25m (£21m) plus €5m (£4m) in add-ons, according to the report.

West Ham is showing significant ambition this summer and is one of the busiest clubs in Europe in the transfer market.

The potential addition of Abraham would further strengthen their already fortified frontline, providing depth and ensuring they are well-covered in case of injuries.

West Ham will kick off their 2024-25 Premier League campaign with a match against Aston Villa on Saturday, 17 August, at the London Stadium.
