West Ham Making Progress in Talks to Sign £17 Million Midfielder with Martin Ødegaard-like Qualities

West Ham United Reportedly Making Progress in Talks for Another Summer Signing in East London.

West Ham United, under the leadership of Julen Lopetegui, who replaced David Moyes this summer, has been active in the transfer market.

The club secured the signing of Jean-Clair Todibo, beating out Juventus, and also acquired Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United for a mere £15 million.

Overall, West Ham has brought in eight new players during this transfer window. According to reports, the Hammers may soon finalize their ninth signing.

West Ham is reportedly making significant progress in talks to acquire Carlos Soler. Although Guido Rodriguez and Luis Guilherme have already bolstered the midfield, the club appears determined to continue strengthening this area.

A report from the French outlet L’Equipe indicates that West Ham is intensifying negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to secure the services of Soler.

Real Sociedad is also interested in the Spanish midfielder, but they need to offload some players before making a move.

Arsenal’s ongoing negotiations with Mikel Merino of Real Sociedad could potentially free up funds for Sociedad to pursue Soler.

However, as long as the deal is not finalized, West Ham remains in the running to sign him.

The Hammers are reportedly discussing the finer details of the transfer with PSG, who are asking for around €20 million (£17 million) for Soler.

Another French outlet, Foot Mercato, also comments on Soler’s situation, noting that while no agreement has been reached, discussions are progressing well.

The possibility of a loan with a compulsory purchase option is being considered.

Carlos Soler, described as a ‘complete footballer’ by former Valencia star Curro Torres, could be a fantastic addition to West Ham.

Last season, Soler made 24 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

His style of play is comparable to Arsenal’s Martin Ødegaard, particularly in his passing accuracy and ability to play between the lines.

If West Ham manages to secure Soler for just £15 million, it could prove to be one of the best bargains of the transfer window.
