On October 29, an online outlet reported that West Ham United was among “up to a dozen” British clubs with scouts at Hammarby’s 3-0 victory over Sirius on October 26.
Several Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Tottenham, also attended to watch 18-year-old Bazoumana Toure, who scored two goals and provided an assist, as noted by TBR.
However, West Ham United does not appear to need Toure.
Despite The Mirror valuing the young player at a reasonable £5 million, this move may not be necessary for the Hammers.
The club already has solid options on the wings, including Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus, and added depth through summer transfers.
Additionally, manager Lopetegui already has an 18-year-old in Luis Guilherme, a summer signing who has yet to see significant first-team action.
While Bowen’s strong form may contribute to this situation, Kudus has been underwhelming this season, which could also affect team dynamics.
If West Ham were to bring Toure into the squad, he might face similar challenges to Guilherme, finding limited opportunities and potentially stalling his development.
Lopetegui has other pressing issues to address in January beyond bolstering the attack, especially given the club’s current lineup.
A transfer for Toure would likely be unnecessary considering the players West Ham already has in place.
