Everton have confirmed the signing of Jesper Lindstrom from Napoli on a season-long loan. The Denmark international midfielder, who joined Napoli from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer, will spend the 2024-25 season at Goodison Park. The loan deal includes an option for Everton to make the transfer permanent.
At 24 years old, Lindstrom has already earned 16 caps for Denmark and was part of the Eintracht Frankfurt squad that won the Europa League in 2023.
His move to Everton marks the club’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Tim Iroegbunam, Iliman Ndiaye, and Jack Harrison.
Lindstrom expressed his enthusiasm about joining Everton in a statement on evertontv. “It’s amazing to represent Everton,” he said.
“This is a big club with a significant history, a great stadium, and excellent facilities. I’m thrilled to be here and believe it’s a good fit for me.”
He also mentioned his discussions with manager Sean Dyche, noting that Dyche appreciates his style of play and believes his speed could be a valuable asset to the team. “I’ve spoken to the manager, and he likes the way I play football,” Lindstrom added.
“I’m here because I need the trust of the coach and my teammates, and I’m ready to show that I can contribute.”
Lindstrom, who has experience playing at both international and European club levels, including the Champions League and Europa League, is eager to prove himself and support Everton this season. “I feel like I’m ready to help the team,” he said.
“This season is an opportunity for me to get back on track, and I believe this is a very good fit for me.”
In other transfer news, Portsmouth, recently promoted to the Sky Bet Championship, have completed the signing of defender Jacob Farrell.
The 21-year-old arrives from Central Coast Mariners for an undisclosed fee and has signed a four-year contract with the club.
