West Ham Set to Make Over £17m Bid for ‘One of the Best Strikers in the World,’ Says Journalist

West Ham United Began Their Premier League Campaign with a 2-1 Home Defeat to Aston Villa Over the Weekend

West Ham struggled for large parts of their recent match and clearly remain a work in progress under Julen Lopetegui.

Despite spending £122 million on eight new players, Lopetegui is still looking to strengthen his squad before the transfer window closes on August 30.

The club is currently pursuing another striker and has been linked with Tammy Abraham for most of the summer.

Abraham, described as ‘one of the best strikers in the world’ by FourFourTwo, is expected to leave Roma, with a Premier League return being the most likely outcome.

West Ham is preparing to make an offer exceeding £17 million for Abraham, according to Il Romanista journalist Simone Valdarchi, via MilanNews24.

Valdarchi stated, “Many Premier League teams have been linked with Abraham, but nothing concrete has materialized.

Currently, West Ham appears to be the most interested club and is ready to offer just over €20 million.”

Regarding Abraham’s preference, Valdarchi noted, “The possibility of playing for Milan is appealing to him, though a return to the Premier League would be like coming home.”

Abraham had a challenging season last year, largely due to injury, making only nine appearances and scoring just once against Napoli.

However, in the previous season, he scored nine goals and provided seven assists, playing a key role in his team’s run to the Europa League final under José Mourinho.
