Lazio Eye Summer Move for West Ham Left-Back Emerson Palmieri

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), West Ham are demanding €10 million for Emerson Palmieri, who has just one year remaining on his contract.

The Italian full-back, on £95,000 a week, previously worked under Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea and would fit naturally into the Lazio manager’s tactical setup.

Since joining West Ham in 2022, Palmieri has been a reliable performer. Former boss David Moyes once praised him for bringing a “winning mentality” to the team.

The 30-year-old has made over 100 appearances for the club and was part of the side that famously lifted the Europa Conference League title.

However, with just a year left on his deal and Lazio keen, this summer could be the right time for West Ham to move on and refresh their options at left-back.

If Palmieri does make the switch to Italy, West Ham will need a suitable replacement — and one standout option is Leif Davis of Ipswich Town.

Despite Ipswich’s relegation, Davis impressed throughout the campaign. A return to the Premier League feels inevitable, and West Ham would be wise to act quickly to secure his services.

The 25-year-old was among the Championship’s most exciting full-backs last season, creating 12 big chances, scoring once, and consistently delivering quality crosses from both open play and set pieces.

Davis also held his own defensively, winning 59% of aerial duels and 53% of ground battles — stats that underline his all-around ability.

His pace, technical skill, and high energy would suit Graham Potter’s style of play and make him an ideal fit in a more progressive system.

With Premier League experience, an affordable price tag, and room for development, Davis could be the long-term solution at left-back if Palmieri departs.
