West Ham star Lucas Paqueta is expected to start for Brazil against Chile on Friday, October 11, as reported by GE Globo.
A Brazilian outlet recently reported that the 27-year-old player will retain his spot in the starting lineup following his appearance in Brazil’s 1-0 defeat against Paraguay on September 11.
However, Brazil’s head coach, Dorival Junior, is making some adjustments, with Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes set to start on the bench for the match scheduled to kick off at 1:00 am BST.
“Bruno is a very important player,” Junior stated in a quote to GE Globo on October 9. “His absence from the starting lineup doesn’t diminish his significance; he understands that.
This change aims to introduce a different midfield dynamic, featuring a player more accustomed to advancing closer to the box, like Paqueta.”
Lucas Paqueta, the West Ham midfielder, is under scrutiny this week after being hit with two new charges related to a betting case on October 8.
