West Ham Willing to Sell 2022 Signing for £30 Million
West Ham United Undergo Major Changes This Summer as Julen Lopetegui Looks to Revamp the Squad

Julen Lopetegui has already made three signings for West Ham this summer and is aiming to secure at least three more.
However, there will be departures from the London Stadium as the Hammers adhere to the new PSR guidelines. So far, Lopetegui has moved on Said Benrahma, Thilo Kehrer, Flynn Downes, Ben Johnson, and Nathan Trott.
Despite these moves, Lopetegui’s work is not yet complete. There is likely to be at least one more high-profile exit before the transfer window closes next month.
One player who seems set for departure is Nayef Aguerd. According to TEAMtalk, West Ham are open to selling the Morocco international this summer, with several Saudi Pro League clubs interested in his signature. Aguerd joined West Ham from Rennes in the summer of 2022 for approximately £30 million (BBC). TEAMtalk reports that West Ham are seeking the same amount for the centre-back this summer.
It would be beneficial if one of the wealthy Saudi clubs makes a substantial offer for Aguerd, as his performance in the Premier League has been underwhelming. While he possesses notable attributes such as impressive pace and ball control, his skill set does not align well with the demands of English football.
Aguerd struggles with concentration, positional awareness, and discipline, making him vulnerable as a central defender in the Premier League. He often appears weak in challenges and is frequently overpowered by opposing players, which creates significant issues for the team.
It is disappointing because Aguerd initially appeared to be a promising addition when he arrived at West Ham. If the club can secure £30 million, or a similar amount, for Aguerd, it would represent a smart piece of business for West Ham.
