West Ham United may have shown flashes of improvement under Nuno Espírito Santo, but their battle to avoid Premier League relegation is far from settled.

According to the Daily Mirror, West Ham are keeping tabs on FC Midtjylland star Franculino Dju, the Guinea-Bissau striker lighting up the Danish Superliga.
The Hammers reportedly made an informal approach for the 19-year-old in the summer, but Midtjylland rejected it.
However, talks could resume in January as Nuno seeks fresh firepower.
Dju has been in electrifying form this season, netting 19 goals in all competitions and emerging as one of Europe’s most exciting young attacking prospects.
Midtjylland, though, are under no pressure to sell and are expected to demand a Danish record transfer fee — exceeding the £22 million (plus £4m in add-ons) paid by Lyon for Ernest Nuamah in 2023.
Described as “unstoppable” by former Celtic defender Johan Mjällby, Dju has impressed scouts with his pace, sharp movement, and clinical finishing.
Those qualities have also drawn interest from other Premier League and Bundesliga clubs, meaning West Ham would likely face tough competition for his signature.
Still, some fans may question whether signing another relatively untested forward from abroad is the right move for a side battling relegation.
Previous gambles — like Füllkrug — haven’t delivered the goals needed.
Ultimately, West Ham might benefit more from targeting a proven Premier League striker who can make an immediate impact.
