Crushing setback for West Ham as 25-year-old reportedly eyes Arsenal move

West Ham have been monitoring Omar Marmoush for a while, but recent news involving Arsenal has dealt a major blow to the Hammers’ hopes.

Julen Lopetegui is in urgent need of a top-quality striker at West Ham, someone with blistering pace and explosive movement.

However, it now seems unlikely that Marmoush will be a realistic target.

There were earlier reports suggesting that Omar Marmoush was ‘likely to join West Ham’ in the upcoming January transfer window.

The 25-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt forward is a highly talented player, and the idea of him joining the Hammers was incredibly exciting for fans.

Unfortunately, that dream appears to be fading, as Arsenal has emerged as the preferred destination for the Egypt international.

According to German journalist Christian Falk, Marmoush has his sights set on a move to West Ham’s London rivals, Arsenal.

This is obviously a huge setback for West Ham. Marmoush’s skill set would have made him a fantastic addition to the Premier League.

Recently, TEAMtalk reported that the quick-footed forward would cost around £40 million, which is reasonable given his abilities in today’s market.

The Bundesliga’s official website has described Marmoush as ‘explosive’ and highlighted his ‘dazzling form’ for Eintracht Frankfurt this season.

His pace and movement are precisely what West Ham currently lacks in the striker department.

So far this season, the 25-year-old has netted seven goals and provided five assists in just eight games across all competitions for Frankfurt.

Last season, he delivered 17 goals and six assists in 41 appearances.

Marmoush’s game is built on his blistering pace, sharp movement, and a keen eye for goal. While he primarily plays as a striker, he’s versatile enough to operate on either wing.

He would have been an incredible signing for West Ham, but with Arsenal now in prime position to secure the forward, it’s a painful loss for the Hammers.
