Stelling disclosed that the 31-year-old Portuguese defender has a four-year contract extension on the table at Molineux.

Speaking on talkSPORT on 13 June, Stelling said:

“There’s a four-year offer on the table for him, but I think he may be on his way. Maybe to Saudi Arabia, I’m afraid.

Djordje Petrovic loan deal under consideration

Another potential incoming player is Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, who was left out of the club’s Club World Cup squad—a move that has sparked speculation about his future.

Former West Ham player Martin Allen believes the Serbian international could head to the London Stadium on loan.

Petrovic recently enjoyed a standout season on loan at Strasbourg, where he was named their Player of the Season for 2024/25.

Allen, speaking to West Ham Zone, said Chelsea are likely to send the 25-year-old out again—either permanently or on another loan deal. He added that a temporary switch may be more feasible for West Ham at this stage.

“They’ll be looking for him to go out on loan or on a permanent deal,” Allen explained. “Whether West Ham can afford a permanent deal right now or if it will just be a season-long loan remains to be seen, but it would be a chance for him to showcase his skills in the Premier League.”
